Demonstrated an active interest and involvement in sports as participant, coach, legal consultant, community outreach facilitator, and promotions/fundraiser throughout professional career. A brief summary follows:

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS
    District of Columbia Bar
  • Co-Chair, Committee on Arts, Entertainment and Sports Law (Two Years)
  • Chair, Standing Committee on Sports Law -- Organized successful seminars with participation by major sports personalities for six years. Coordinated successful program with D.C. Bar Committee and Women's Bar on "Marketing and Legal Issues of the Female Athlete," and National Bar Association on "Should Sports Agents be Regulated?"

    Women's Sports Foundation
  • Member and regular participant on the Advisory Board; present speeches to the community for WSF and represent the Foundation in other functions. Founded and chaired Washington D.C. Community Awards and Grants Committee. Coordinated National Girls and Women in Sports Day held in Washington, DC; increased overall participation from previous events.
  • Chaired WSF 1999 Annual Summit Program Committee; organized and coordinated more than 20 seminars and workshops for 400 attendees; moderated panels on Title IX, ADA compliance issues, as well as general legal matters; also conducted PR and secured sponsorships.
  • Committee for Pay Equity for Coaches and Title IX advocacy groups.
    Women in Sports and Events
TENNIS
  • Coach and tennis teacher - Bullis Tennis Academy, Potomac, Maryland-and for Washington Tennis Association Special Events----Special Olympics at Legg Mason Tournament.
  • Professional Tennis Registry (Certification Pending) and USPTA Certified Developmental Coach.
  • Director-Washington College Tennis Association. Served as Counsel for the Washington Tennis Association
    Serve on D.C.'s Recreation Wish List Committee -built Washington DC=s tennis center for youth.
    Served as initial organizer and Director of the D.C. youth tennis program as part of the new National Junior Tennis League. Coached and supervised three additional coaches.
    Supported the Mid-Atlantic Tennis Association's International Hardcourt Tennis Tournament. Performed visa work to ensure foreign participation, conducted media relations.
    Served as coach and organizer of high school tennis teams in California; hold coaching certification.
GOLF
    Established local chapter of the Executive Women's Golf Association. Also conduct events organization and management, sponsor acquisition, media coordination, and PR writing.
    Regularly participate as player and contributor to charity golf events for the National Breast Cancer Coalition, American Cancer Society and National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship.
    Provided similar services for major men's and women's golf events:
  • LPGA Keystone Open - sponsorship, media relations and marketing
  • McDonald's LPGA Golf Tournament - with AstraZeneca hole (formerly with Mazda LPGA)
  • Soldheim Cup - media, hospitality and transportation
  • Gillette - Mazda Golf Clinics - scheduling/organization, registration, awards, hospitality
    Also assisted with media and hospitality at the Presidents' Cup and the Senior Men's U.S. Open
